Since Uganda is getting a lot of interest on the internet right now, I figured it was important to try to present an alternative source of information. Invisible Children is, as many already know, a highly problematic organization, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying to help. Here are some other sources of information, statistics, and ways to donate/help.
- American Progress’s 2007 report, “What to Do About Joseph Kony”
- Amnesty International’s 2011 report on Uganda
- Global Security’s page on the Lord’s Resistance Army
- Washington Post, “A Child’s Hell in the Lord’s Resistance Army,” May 2006.
- HRW: “Protect civilians from LRA abuses,” May 2011
- AllAfrica.com, “Amnesty International wants Kony arrested,” May 2010
- AI’s Uganda Portal
- Human Rights Watch’s Uganda portal
- Democracy Now!’s Uganda portal
Ah, yes, I was looking for this post.
AHA. GUYS, DON’T DONATE TO INVISIBLE CHILDREN. Look into these considerably less glossy resources about the Uganda problem instead. Okay. Good.

Dear PCA,
I’ve watched the People’s Choice Awards for several years. I’ve watched it as long as I’ve been intrested in watching award shows like this. It has been one of the highlights of my year, to sit down and watch the People’s Awards at home with my family. I have voted every year for my favorite shows. Up until this point I haven’t been at all with the way your show has been run. Sure, I’ve been disappointed with who won and who didn’t, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, aren’t they, so I don’t judge too hard.
What I am disappointed in is your treatment of the SPN cast in this years awards. These actors, not to mention the collective cast and crew who work on the show Supernatural - which received two awards this year - not to send in invitation to your red carpet, or air the acceptance speech for their awards. It is extremely rude, and I hope you know that you have lost several fans of your show that will not be watching in the years to come.
Sincerly,

“Here’s the deal; I want you, and when I want something I will stop at nothing to get it. There’s one little problem however, your pesky little boyfriend. Now before you say anything, you should really get to know who, or what, you are dealing with.”
“Funny you should mention that, because you should probably learn the same thing.”

Haha I just realized that Kurt is a Gpoy for my sister when my mom turns on the classic country. I’ve learned to appreciate hokey country myself. ;)I wanted to know what was bothering Kurt in this scene. Poor thing seemed so frustrated and detached.
He’s drinking cheap sparkling cider out of a plastic cup while being forced to listen to country.
I’d be frustrated and detached, too.
Kind of makes me wonder if Chris was having a flashback to high school.

“Everyday after hair and makeup, we come to our trailers and we’ll find our costumes and our wardrobe for the scenes that we’ll be filming that day. This is my cheerleading uniform, because my character joins the Cheerios. Never thought I’d actually play a cheerleader, so…it’s a bonus, it’s a plus.”
